Hey People,

Just wanted some opinions ... is it worth the money to get the suzuki sierra's engine recond from 1.3lt to 1.6lt, have you had it done, what do you think/heard??? does it increase the maximum speed by much? does it make much difference for off road? also opinions on changing the carby into EFI ?

hi mate, have a search for the G16B swap. it uses an efi 1.6L from the vitaras. relatively easy swap, and theres about a billion threads about it already. some good reading through the forum, plus a lot of not so good.

Not worth the effort IMO. Unless you are on your P's for the next 3 years and aren't allowed to do an engine swap?

That's an engine swap... very different to 'reconditioning a 1.3 to 1.6'

If you have the coin to be considering an efi engine swap, you should probably seriously consider buying a whole zook with said engine already installed (even from interstate) and using your current one for parts...

An EFI engine swap requires a lot of re-wiring, including in the dash, computers inside the cab ect, which would make re-bodying your zook a much bigger job.

oh right.. hahah sorry i dont know much about cars.. thank you for your help.. and yeah that is not a bad idea but wouldnt it cost just as much to get another zook and then use some parts of mine existing one.. wouldnt people charge through the roof for all the stuffing around?? and swaping things from here and there?

Depends what you're swapping.... you could probably buy a sierra with a good rust free body and 1.6 EFI and get it transported, for less than the cost of a professional EFI engine swap.
