And a very important qustion aswel, Ive done the chromly front axles witch needed to replace the 22 spline gears out and put the 26 spline, does this mean ill need to run a rear diff center up front ???

cheers

A) Yes and no. The rear will bolt in. The front will not fit at all.

B) Yes.

wide track or narrow track?

coiler diffs are a 3.9 ratio.

Nt is 3.9
wt is 3.7

sorry steve your wrong. you can bolt front and rear coiler centers in to wt/nt housings..

the front is a high pinion and weaker (however i didnt ever bust mine with a gti and 31' swampers driven like it was stolen some times.

if yours is a wide track your tail shafts will fit straight up 2.

you will need to swap out the side gears for 26 spline units./

what are you trying to achieve mate?

There you go.
AFAIK the coil centre is unique.
Can you swap side gears for 26 spline rears in a coil centre
Can you put a rear centre in a coil front third member
Can you a front locker with 26 spline couplers in a coil centre?

I'm not having a dig - these are serious questions. If it was/is possible to do any of those things then there might be good reason to run a coil front third member for cars with lift and no need for deeper than 3.9 gears.

As an aside:

A high pinion front diff is stronger than a low pinion when going forwards. They are about 20% weaker than a low pinion diff in when driving in reverse, which is why 80 series got a bad reputation when they came out for breaking front diffs in reverse.

half a year?

Droopypete was also having a huge shed clear out late last year - there were multiple diffs - probably gone in the bin now if there were any left over.

They're around - you just have to keep looking.

Steve.

Can you a front locker with 26 spline couplers in a coil centre? yes and no. some one on here is running one as a rear center.. jimny front air locker can be made to fit

Yeah ive Pm'ed him few days ago, but his not the only one ive pm'ed, done around 5 - 6 guys and they all said yup i got em just didnt hear back from them, probably sold them to friends or or something anyways no point crying over it

What im trying to achieve is just to find a replace ment cause both my front and rear diffs are making the most loudest noise you can imagine, but ive already changed the front diff to 26 spline gears cause i installed a few months ago the chromely axles and cv's from low range

But in saying that i can still drive the car with the 26 spline gears fitted to the front with the standard diff, how does that work ??

Its ok i worked it out, it doesnt change the diff just the spline from the diff so you can run 26 spline axles, got it
