G'day all,gotta do oil change,I know its 15/40 for the 1.3..
its got almost 200k on the clock,no smoke, goes good and starts good.
What brand would you recommend?
Did tappets today and she is quieter
but still has a little bit of tappet noise.
Would you recommend a different weight of oil?
Should i use an engine flush before oil change?
Full synthetic? Is it always the best option?
ta Cory.

it confussed me too i had noisy tappets so i adjusted them cold then they got quieter but i realised it had too much oil in it (5litres instead of around 4) so i changed the oild to that older engine stuff and now my tappets are even louder than when i adjusted themi think the oil i used which was like 20 50w is too thick

Seems to me you already made the right choice with Penrite, go the HPR40 & you should be fine. I run Penrite in everything I own, bikes included.

Oops..too late...before i went into the ripco store i thought i'd better check
the sticker under the bonnet coz i got a memory like a siv.....
My sticker said 10/40 (always used 15/40 coz my haynes book told me to)
so i got Mobil semi-synthetic 10/40 coz thats all i could find in 10/40.
Is that ok?If not next time I'll go back to 15/40...i confuse easily.:)
Last time i did the oil i dropped the oil out..then put new oil in......
then tripped over my new filter....doh.....
so the oil i pulled out today was BLACK AS!(yes i put a new filter in this time!)
Been using penrite for a while....hope suzi dont blow up coz i put Mobil in!
I know i blow up when i can't get my brand of smokes!!
thanks guys ,Cory

It will be fine mate... It is still an ok brand, unlike the cheap and nasty oil which is actually recycled engine oil...
