| Post subject: | LWB SJ410 Diff Question |
Hi everyone I recently purchased a 1LTR '84 LWB sierra. And I have decided to part out my SWB NT. I am wondering if the spartan locker that is currently fit in my SWB will be able to transfer into the rear of the LWB? I was told that the LWB has been upgraded to 93? model LWB diffs as they have larger rear drums? Not sure if this will make a difference. Any in put would be much appreciated! |

Hard to say. 93 model LWB is most likely a NT Maruti, so the diffs will be smaller than your SWB diffs. Can you get pics? |

The way I understand this is that your original veh is a 1litre swb and you have bought a 1litre lwb fitted with 1993 diffs. If this is the case and it is still NT then it must have maruti diffs which are same size as 1300 NT except that they are 4.1 ratio. So your old centres will not fit they will be too small. |

Sorry Kas but I have to disagree there mate. Maruti diffs post 94 ARE 1.3L size. All pre-94 are 1L size and ratio. He says the diffs are from a 93 LWB which ( unless they are from the uber-rare WT LWB) are 1L diffs. |

Answer = No. Your 86 NT Diff centres/ lockers are too big to fit into the 84 NT 1L housings. BUT! You could straight swap the NT diffs into the 1L. Youll just need to sort out drive shafts and possibly rear brake line. ( can't remember) . |

cairns27 wrote: I've learnt the hard way,NT LWB centres won't fit into a NT SWB diff housing. bye Really? SWB and LWB 1.3 diffs are identical..... 1.0 diff housings and centres are different to 1.3 but again, swb and lwb 1.0's all share the same diff housings and centres. |

If a 1.3 centre didn't fit the housing you got it's because it is a 1.0 housing. |

Yea mine's a bit different, I think it's fully imported. I seen others with my dodgy longrange tank setup, DOT didn,t know what 3rd party I had to have. In the end we called it a soft top station wagon. bye |
