Is there anyway to know what sort of clutch my toy is running, without pulling the gearbox.

When I get back home on break, I want everything there for my 1.6 install, but there are two types of clutch ??

Not really.
It could be a flat or stepped flywheel.
Could be 18 or 20 spline input shaft.

How well do you get on with the parts shop? Could you order both and return whichever you don't need?

I could, but ebay is so much cheaper is all

Its a flat flywheel, just rang me mechanic mate, he has the engine, and has just had the flywheel machined, but on the 1.3l gearbox, 18 or 20 tooth, hmmmmm

Spoz its only a day, pull motor out, ID clutch, do o'night order.

I friggin hate being here at the mo, my toy is home, has engine and multiple carbs waiting to go on, grrrr fukin

Here is my carb setup. didnt get it on ebay, but its the only pic I could find, they are waiting for me to bolt on, aahhhhhhh, near 3 weeks to wait.

Yea I know, but I like carbs, should be about the same power.

I can install these, I got chicken shit when I tried for EFI, whow do I, can I, what if, er, carbs won.

Will put a 2.5" system on it, should go like stink, hopefully.

If you have a flat flywheel order a clutch kit for a 92 1.3 Sierra.

Did the flywheel come from the gearbox you plan to use? IE the flywheel is out of your car?

exedy has a clutch finder on their site, pick the one with the flat flywheel, which from memory is 18 spline and doesnt exsist according to some :)

if you have a 20 spline box, you need a stepped flywheel, they dont interchange
if you have a NT 1.3 box with the inspection plug on the side, its 20 spline - stepped flywheel

The flywheel thats flat is from the 1.6l, i thought you had to use it.

Just a quick note, I picked up a new clutch from Suzi Auto the other day (couldn't be bothered waiting for australia post for a cheap one) and I asked Graeme the question about the 2 different clutch's. He said that there is only 1 type and that it was originally just an error in a repco catalogue that showed 2 different types. For the record, I've used the exact same type of clutch on a '88 g13a, a '92 g13b and a coily g13b.

No you use the 1.3 one to suit your gearbox

Yeah nah, exedy list 2 (the flat one is also in a swift I think)

I know there is a flat flywheel one CAUSE I HAD ONE which was a pain in the ass when I preordered my clutch only to find the 'common one' was wrong

yes G13A all use the same, most G13BA are the same and Coily are same but the parts list says a different throwout to the other models
