Trying to get a road worthy on my Sierra at the moment, but having issues with a drive train knock.
I figured it was bad backlash so I pulled the rear diff, it seemed fine but reset it to be sure, checked rear unis at the same time. Transfer has a tiny amount of slack but no more than I have seen on my other transfers. Jack shaft unis are fine. So that leaves the gear box, putting the gbox in gear and turning the output on my transfer im getting a knock from the front of the gearbox. It doesn't sound that loud but im not putting that much strain on it.. Box will be out this week end, just trying to work it out before i pull it out and need bits..( or that isnt it )

I have the same if i put the transfer case in neautral and put the gearbox into any gear it sounds like someone is hitting a hammer in the tunnel

I had a knocking sound that was coming from the tunnel and the jack shaft unis were pretty much stuffed they didn't even move
