Hi guys,

I have put a 1.6 G16B into my Suzuki Sierra 1997. Had the auto sparkey doing my wiring and it wont start. Its not injecting but we have power to the injectors. We plugged into the computer and its telling us code 41 (4 flashes, pause, then 1 flash), which is Ignition signal, but we have ignition signal. Strange because the motor and loom came out of a running car which I drove into the shed and pulled the motor and loom out of it.
Has anyone come across this problem before, or knows what's wrong?

Thanks Thor

hey mate had the same issue.
when you did the swap did you use the standard coily loom for oil temp/ water temp pretty much all the sensors including the alternator plug?
i used the coily one's but eventually found out that you have to have the ones for the 1.6 computer spliced in if that makes any sense

Code 41 is Ignition Fail Safe. This is a feedback signal from the coil, if the ECU doesn't see this signal then it cuts the injectors. Usually the signal is taken from the noise suppresor and is the same signal that runs the rev counter.

Yep, sounds like its not getting the ignition (rev) signal. Not sure on the stock ECU but on my aftermarket one unless it registers above 300 cranking revs it wont fire the injectors.
