so i took my sierra to a mechanic mate and to look at the carby, it has a vacume leak from the bottom gasket??

He also fiddled with the idle coz it wouldnt idle.

Got like 2ks up the road and when i died, when i start it it idles but when i accelerate the revs just slightly pick up and then dies, pumping the accelerator eventualy picks the revs up.

Any ideas??

so did you fix the vacuum leak or just adjust the idle. also try tighting the 4 bolts on top of the.

Sounds like either air or fuel starvation, so hopefully get the carby sorted and it'll go away?
