My strut mounts need replacing, known this for a while but was told it's not a safety issue when I had struts put in. Is this a normal thing to wear out, Anyone else replaced them cause they've worn. They make a clunking noise and move about 2-3mm where the rubber mount is when I rock the car, I can hear it too when going over the gutter slowly going out the driveway. looks like there called a Strut Cartridge? I found some for sale on an American web site. http://www.autopartsexpress.com/Parts/S ... ridge.html Just looking at fixing all the niggling minor things with the GV. |

Yep. Also called strut top mount, or pillow ball mount. It is a consumable part of the suspension system, just like control arm bushes etc. The bonded rubber assembly will eventually fail. It is a common maintanence issue for A LOT of different cars. |

I can't find them from Australia, is it a part I can get from repco? looks like it has a metal bush so not possible to make it tighter to squish the rubber bush more. part numbers KYB - SM5366 Ebay? - FSM5244 MOOG - K90327 Monroe - 904932 |
