There a thread somewhere on this,it involves changing spark plug leads to get engine backfiring or put a cover over the top of the carby to get it sucking,i would be re-coing the carby.

Pull the carby hat off, while car is running rev it, then block the carby with your hand.
This works sometimes.

I havent done the backfiring thing, but its not 100% fix.

Get a carby kit, and strip it, clean it, and rebild it to factory specs.

If I rebuilt my carb every time it got a bees pube caught in the jet I would be a much poorer man.

Just try spraying carby cleaner everywhere, in everthing, while its running and while its not and see if that helps.

^^ I should have explained it better.
If you dont know the history of the car, put a kit through it, clean it and check everything according to FSM.
If the old seals are still somewhat ok, keep them.

I have a spare kit and left overs, incase some of the seals get torn etc when cleaning it.
On my zook I find the seal between the base of the carby and manifold gets stuck and tears.
On the drover the top gasket sometimes get torn, while carefully prying the top off.

I've piled on a lot of kms over the last 1.5 yrs and havent had one carby issue (besides icing).
The motorbike filter between fuel pump and carby appears to have helped significantly.

I went through a stage where I was cleaning my carby after every time I went wheeling.. it was effing annoying.
1/5 times the hand over the carby worked.
