Hey almost finished restoring/ efi converting my 89 swb vit.
Hit a couple of little speedbumps.

- clutch pedal pushes in but does not spring back, but you can pull it back easy enough although there is some resistence on it. the pivoting arm thing on the gearbox does move but only a little. any ideas?

- Had the dash and everything working but now the tacho has stopped working, dash lights still come on, not sure about fuel gauge or speedo as its not driving anywhere for a little while yet. what do i have to do to make it work again??

- The engine is hunting, been told vacuum leak but havnt found one yet. when i start her up she revs hard for a few seconds then backs off and hunts, probably 500-1000rpm variation.

- Reverse lights don't work, but brake and indicator lights do.

Thats all i can think of right now, any help is greatly appreciated, im itching to wheel this thing :(

thanks in advance,
Brandon

- clutch cable stretched to shit? Or just wrong length for the box Can you see/feel any slack in it when the pedal is up?

- Dunno...

- Find air leak... failing that check air filter, fuel filter, o2 sensor

- Does it actually get into reverse? Most likely switch or an air-gap in the wiring?

Not much help, but hopefully a start...

seems to go into reverse, but havnt tried with it running eyt as the clutch isnt working.
I will check for play, was fine before i changed the engine over for which i took the clutch cable out :S
And im gonna try that aerostart stuff then il try the other stuff you mentioned :)

Another question is what does it take to make LWB vit seats fit a SWB if its even possible. I tried to mount them straight in but didnt fit, so swapped rails over only to find that the LWB seats are narrower.

I thought they were the same, so I'm no help.

I know Fatzook has measured and made mounts for both, so he'd be able to tell you.

seat rails are 20mm narrower on a LWB compared to the SWB for some reason.

That's very Suzuki of them...

So it could be as simple as a bit of 50mm flat bar with two sets of holes drilled in it... no guarantees as far as the legality of that goes...

Its the outer seat rails that will need moving, the ones that fix to the floor not the ones on the tunnel. You might have a problem with the rails sticking out from underneath the plastic moulding. It might be easier to cut the 'legs' off some old swb seats and weld them onto the lwb ones and use the swb plastics. I don't think the lwb seats tip forwards to give access to the rear.

do they tilt & slide in the 1 action?

mine had a ripcord on the outer pivot in the back for rear passengers to be able to get out.

Nup, tilt on the side of the seat, slide lever at front.
