Hi guys need some help, Changing the timing belt on my g16b and all i have to go by is gregwatkins75 g16a how to... viewtopic.php?f=17&t=26098&hilit=timing+belt I have removed the timing belt cover and noticed that on the top pulley there is two notches, One for E and one for I, which one do i line up with the notch on the engine casing? Im presuming i rotatae it two full turns clockwise and line up the E? cheers guys! |

if your just changing the belt all you need to do if you cant figure the marks out is find a straight edge and mark the pulleys straight though the center of crank all the way to center of cam . mark top and bottom of pulleys so you know they are in exactly the right spots. I did mine a while back and from memory I had some dots on the pulleys that all lined up when it was correct, but that was 18mths or so ago. as long as every thing stays lined up you relly cant fuck it up |

The cam gear should have the dowel in the E hole. You line up the E mark on the rim. |

no worries fellas, took a punt and got it all sorted, is there any torque specs for the waterpump bolts and tensioner bolt? cant seem to find any?? thanks, mark. |

Haynes says 17.5-21.5 ft-lb for the tensioning bolt, 7-8.5 for the adjuster nut. Water pump bolts are 7-9 ft-lb. |
