ima noob just for the record i own an 86 sierra JX soft top but im wondering if any of you guys have changed the wind shield wiper motor to go fast. mine doesn't go quite as fast and quite a few times ive had to pull over on the side of the road till the rain subsided. it had been replaced by previous owner 2 weeks before i bought it.. so yeah just putting it out the if anyone has done it to give me a reply back on here or personal inbox please cheers mark |

You could try folding the screen down and lubricating all the wiper arm joints and pivots. If that doesn't help....Wiper motors are cheap 2nd hand and easy to replace in a soft top. |

My 86 Sierra wiper motor is going very very slow, sometimes not at all, even with the arms pulled off the screen. I will check out voltage to the wiper motor if i can see the plug/loom to it before considering pulling out the dash. I guess that is what I need to do to access the w/motor. My model hasn't got the flip down windscreen so it doesn't look that easy. has anyone else replaced a wiper motor or had issues with very slow sweeps of the arms? Initially I thought it was a voltage drop or excessive resistance thru. the combination stalk. Cheers Ric |
