I just replaced my bent w/t diff housing and fitted new wheel bearing kits to the axles all went on good but when I put the long axle in it wont go in all the way the short axle went in easy and I did the wheel bearings the same way looks like it needs to go in another 2mm what have I done wrong??  hers a pic of the wheel bearing cousing me to swear

So the bearing doesn't go all the way? They are supposed to sit out slightly |

I cant tighten the backing plate all the way down like the other side its got me fucked |

how much bearing is sticking out when you wack the axle in. ii think there ment to stick out around 1-3mm. if the bearing is right in the backing plate should tighten right up |

It looks like that collor is not tight try give it all a press down and see if that helps and makes sure where the bearing sits on the housing is clean and free Of shit and the seal is in all the way and right way in |

the bearing and coller are all the way down I used a pipe to wack it down I know the coller is on the right way a the wheelberings ment to go on one way like are they tapped? |

Do you have the spacer installed on the other side of the bearing (between bearing and machined shoulder). |

Did the bearing have more meat on one side than the other? Some brands have the spacer built in. |

Is there any damage on splines or diff side gears, may be its the diff end, rather than the wheel bearing end giving problems |

It should either have a spacer, or a bearing with the spacer built into the inner race. the separate spacer design was in 1.0 litre and 1.3NT the design was changed to the spacer being built in in WT. but either type will work. But no good without the spacer. You'll have to pull the short side and check it too. |

What's this so called spacer you talking about, never seen on on a bearing nor, have used one and my backing always does up tight when I use to do my Sierra bearings. I put on the backing plate, bearing then collier and it works for me. Is it just a big washer? Or some thing? |

Sometimes its a "washer" seperate to the bearing, but most of the time its built into the bearing. |

I see the problem now the bearings that came of had a spacer built in and the ones supplied don't looks like au wasted my money on thease bearings will have to go see a mate with a press to see if I can press them of without damageing them |

The bearings for NT don't have the collar built into them, they run a seperate ring hence cheap bearings. WT use an almost identical bearing with a wider inner seat so the spacer ring isn't required. These bearings are a lot dearer. Ideal solution for WT's is to run NT spacers and bearings. |

this is what I bought of ebay the bearing were ment to be jap bearings but they sent me hch chinese one I rang the company this arvo ant there going to express post the right ones to me on moonday so I should have the zook back fixed tues arvo http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/270937822610 ... 1497.l2649 auszookers rules thanks for the help I would never have thought to look for a spacer |
