g'day, I own a SJ80 Coily running the original engine. Just had the timing belt replaced no issues there however once i drove the vehicle home and turned her off it would not start again. There is still power in terms of my headlight, dash etc however when i try to turn the engine over there is no action what so ever. Any help would be appreciated. |

So what exactly DOES happen? Idiot lights on the dash? Clicking noise from the starter solenoid, but doesn't crank? Engine cranks over, but coughs or won't fire at all? Can you clutch start the car by rolling it? Have you checked fuses, including main fusible link? |

Nothing happens what so ever no clicking noise etc, i get my usual head-unit turning on on accessories plus my warning light i.e battery charge light but that's all normal. I have checked all connections including battery terminal, will definitely go over the fuses and be rolling it tomorrow and will update what happens. Thanks |

The wire that goes to the starter in good nick?? battery isn't old?? Alternator providing enough charge?? |

Check power to the main wire on the starter mortor, and then power to the little wire on the starter motor while someone is holding the key in the start position. If both of them are ok, then you're up for a starter motor |

If both of them are ok, then you're up for a starter motor Yep,its usually the little wire on the solenoid that oxidises/corrodes and fails to make good contact,just run a wire from the + battery terminal and touch the little tab with the ignition on,if nothing happens its probaly the starter motor. |
