Has anyone seen one of these before? It's used to pick up the presence of exhaust gas in the cooling system. I have seen them used at rad shops. I gotta take my zook in to get tested, but was wondering what they are worth to buy.

Is it used for checking head gasket integrity?

Yep.

I have used em, they will only work if you have CO in the coolant, not a myriad of other things

The only place that can come from is exhaust isn't it?

no its from combustion gasses into teh cooling system (IE break or crack from the cylinder to there NOT exhaust port or anything) they wont get a crack to exhaust or oil passage or atmosphere though

so they are a good test to do but nothe the only test to do

BTW, I have seen them test negative with a crack to the cooling system and seen them test positive with nothing wrong, fresh clean water seems to help

unless you are using fluid or its running rough or overheating all the time now I would be inclined to just leave it and see

Yeah, combustion gasses is what I meant.

Cooling system pressure test too?

It is overheating all the time now. Level seems to be OK, and it runs alright though.

pressure test is good if you are losing coolant and cant find it

get your rad checked and replace the thermostat, sometimes if they get really hot they fail and dump crap from the block into the radiator

Did you consider your that maybe your timings out or maybe running lean? Did you ever fix that airflow meter? What makes you think it is the rad? Seems funny for it to all of a sudden pack it in unless its the thermostat as already mentioned.
