hey guys chasing a bit of advice

im looking to remove my interior dash and surrounds to paint them to give the interior an update dont need advice on the prep and paint issue as i have done that before however

how easy/hard is it to remove the dash and surround of a 92 sierra??

any help or guides fellas i did a search came up with zero

there are workshop manuals on there for most sierras. download and you shall find the info...as well as a lot of other info for your zook.

easy and also can be a bit fiddly with the vent tubes as they fall out all over the place and may be annoying to put back in , in the right place.

generally it's all easy stuff.. and explains itself as it goes. you have a few screw covers on top of the dash too. and sometimes the cables that connect to the heater can be annoying but you'll figure it out.

its the annoying lil fiddly bits i hate as whenever i take something off im always left with a few bolts with no idea where they go hahaha

My dad rebuilt a Corona engine about 15 years ago, he was left with 6 bolts...

Yeah anyway, go crazy with marking stuff - even if you think it may be easy to figure out where it goes later on, mark it anyway.

get a big peice of cardboard and stab the bolts/screws into it. then you can write in pen where they came from. they wont roll away either.


I always tell myself i will do this, but end up with a pile of bolts in my socket set lid.

well the seats are black and door trims are the pattern of black and dark gray pretty nice

so im planning on black carpet (dont plan on too serious off roading) and then painting the dash black i got dodge black and toyota 202 in the shed but not sure if i will smooth the dash first

anyone know if the carpets you can order on ebay are ok for sierras they say they are but has anyone got one previous

there is a ebay shop selling moulded sierra carpets

type in suzuki carpets and you will find it only 150

Nah polystyrene foam lids from the those fruit store veggie boxes are the upmarket way of doing them. That way beer cartons can be kept for there rightful use, as hats or helmets depending how big your head is.
