Hey all let me start by saying that i fix planes not cars so if this sounds stupid pleaase dont be mean and im sorry.
I have a 94 Sierra that i am going to change the sprigs (front) in and i have a couple of questions.

The extended Shackles obvously go on the front... which is the front? the is one side where the spring wraps around the mount and the other side has a gap between the outer spring and the mount. The way it is at the minute is the side with the gap is on the shackle side, im happy to do the same however the shackle rubs on the spring making a SQUEEK, and i didnt no if that was normal.

My next question is the springs i wish to put on are OME and im told that the front springs have an L and R, is this true? if so the springs i have dont have L or R just numbers does any1 know which is which? one has I and one has O?????

And don't bother with the extended shackles. They offer no advantage with OME front springs, only disadvantages.

shackles are needed. extended shackles on OME springs will give you a harsher ride than standard length shackles as they sit more upright

And reduce caster, which has bad effects on handling. Car wanders more and the steering doesn't self centre as strongly.
