Hey guys,

Yesterday I went to a quarry to try out the 1 ltr after probably half hour of mucking around as I left it started dying when I put my foot down but would get going again then after another 500 odd meters it died completely. At first I thought I had run out of fuel so I chucked some in from a jerry and that didn't help. Took the fuel line of the carby and nothing was being pumped out.

In the end I took the fuel line off the pump and sucked some fuel through put it back on and it worked, I also had to do this when I first put the motor in. Is this indicative of a dying pump? Or it just happened to suck some air on a hill?

Cheers,

Jackson

Ok I replaced the fuel pump and filter but still having trouble with it.

I've noticed now that it is a little jerky through the rev range but also I went out the yesterday and trying to get up steps I was having alot of trouble. I could get my front wheels up but then the car would stall after a little bit at first it was just a matter of rolling back down and cranking it for a little sometimes having to suck fuel up to the pump.

Thats a step I was trying to get up and after a couple of tries it wouldn't start but even on much smaller ones if it stalled on an incline I had to start from the bottem. A mate dragged me up onto a bit of flat ground but there was no fuel getting to the carb. Luckily I took my old fuel pump so I quickly swapped them and it seemed to be fine although we didn't try anything like that again.
