So, yesterday I when to a good hard wheel. At the end of the trip i noticed that the exhaust is heaps louder. Thought i just broke something, but nothing seems broken. What would do this?

You broke something.



Does your exhaust have one of those sprung joints just after the manifold? It may be sitting a little open after you bashed the pipe on something.

Give it a kick and it should re-seat.

the loudness is from the back pipe, i did a seal test with my hand and there were no leaks.............

One or more of the internal baffles in the muffler may have collapsed.

Hah, I got my first question from anyone about the truck being loud yesterday.
We were going down the road for a quick fish and I came off a roundabout onto a downhill, stepped on it a little bit (I have stupidly short gears with 6.5's and stock tyres so I was still under the speed limit in 2nd :p) and then saw a policeman step out in a vest and thinking he had a radar gun out I got on the brakes and looked down to make sure, all good, cruised up he was doing a breath check in a little parking bay section. "Going a bit fast there weren't you mate". "Nah not that hard officer it just has ridiculously short gears and I was revving it". "Ah so it just sounds loud then, righto on your way"
I wasn't actually speeding but being a downhill and 60 it wouldn't have taken much if I wasn't paying attention. I was also polite to the policeman (who I had no reason to be rude to anyway, not that you would) and he had a joke about how gutless the 1.3 would be and we were off again.

I didn't ring it's neck when we left though, that would have been asking for trouble, it's louder from behind :p
