i just installed a 2' body lift and the car seems to jump out of second gear occassionally. before the body lift second gear use to vibrate alot through the gear stick but now actually jumps out of gear. this mainly happens when turning which i find odd. any ideas wat it could be? i havent checked yet but maybe the gearstick hits the tunnel when in 2nd gear and gets pushed out?? |

mine hit against the tunnel, i rekon if you take off the boot, the shifter will be hitting against the tunnel, i neede to hack at it a bit with the grinder to get it to clear |

Yeah thats another option. I believe mart did that in his zook? you would have to pull the stick out though. He also used a press to bend it. I only had to notch out about 20x20mm of the hole |

If you've got one of those big rubber flexy boots (standard), you'll probably find that if you replace it with a thinner leather boot, it will be fine. I got a couple of really nice Saas ones from supercheap, but they are around $30 a boot. Check you low range as well. You will probably find it won't go in 4wd low. For this I just ground out a section of the floor pan and boot bracket with a die grinder. |
