can anyone give me any advise on what to do or should i just get a new box? i took the selector off the topof the box and couldnt budge the gear fork

So it stuck in gear with the stick still in the box?

yer with the leaver in i can move the selector side to side but it wont come outs first

Can you take the shifter out of the gearbox, and get a pic of the selector rods beneath? They may need to be realigned.
Also is the shifter bush still intact?

If the end of the shifter is worn (rounded corners) It can jam in gear while still in place. Have had it happen to me on occasions during some fast n furious low range shifting.
As above, pull the stick, check the shift rods are aligned correctly. They should form a square hole like this: [ ] I'd suspect one of yours is offset.

Check that the shifter bush is in good condition. Check that the locator bolt is still there ( it keys into the slot on the ball of the shifter), and check that the shifter rods are aligned.
