I've read around on the forums about changing the seats to a n13 pulsar.. Becaus they are more comfy.. Are they just a straight bolt in change? Looking for more comfy seats, but also trying to retain sliding functionality and not have to do much fabrication.. Any other seats that fit in, apart from after market recaro ones.. Trying to go the el' cheapo option :D

The stock rails will bolt straight onto the n13 pulsar seats you may just have to enlarge the bolt hole slightly on the rails.

to bolt them into the car you will need to drill 2 holes further out in the driver door side seat mounts. The passenger side can be bolted in as there is enough play in the rails as they are a little taller to bolt them into the stock holes. Sliding functionality is the same as the stock seats. I think the seats i bought were about $40 each from a wreckers in very good condition. much more comfy than stock and a good option if you can justify the coin on a set of recaro or similar seats

Nothing directly bolts into a coily as far as I know because the seat rails are at differing heights. Having said that, it is relatively easy to use some 50x50 angle or 50x75 angle bolted to the existing rails to give you a flat base to mount any type of seat that you can physically fit. I have done this to my car and the stock rails required a little bit of trimming so that they were flat. I then bolted a set of MkII Swift Gti seats onto the modified rails (onto the angle) and with a bit of pushing and pulling they fit very nicely. They do rub a little bit of the door card and on the seat belt retractor but thats because I kept all of the plastic casing around the bottom of the seat on. I see you are in Brisbane - I would suggest giving DOT a call to find the number for a local engineer who will be able to specify exactly what he will and won't allow. They get a bit picky with the size bolts you use and how much cutting is required.

4wd action said in a feature car (sj80 snake racing website) that mr2 seats bolt directly to the floor.

I have the same set up as Brodie, using gti seats, if you can get the seats cheap go for it. But to go back to standard seats u will need new rails, or keep the section that was trimmed off and weld it back on. Dc integra seats also fit well to the 50x50 angle.
