I've got gears so am on the upper end of the rev range usually. I have seen a hand throttle setup that was an old Victa chrome throttle lever and cable mounted on the gearstick like a truck range/splitter switch. |

I mainly got it so i set a fast idle for my air comp. but it will help with warm ups on cold mornings and it will mean i dont get throttle bobble offroad. to remove any confusion i can set it anywhere from idle to red line |

I ran a cable to the idle up part of carby. Used the 1.o litre choke cable already fitted, as I'd upgraded to 1.3 donk. |

i've been meaning to hook one up in my Vitara for the last 6 years.... might actually get around to it soon, will be using the guts from a MTB grip shifter as the gear knob on either the transfer or gear stick rather than having a dicky odd looking lever in a late model interior. |

EFI could be electonically switched to idle up |

On a Vit, I think headlights, air con and temp all cause idle up, so it could be done. On my Sierra, I needed it for stall prevention, hill starts and stuff, because of a dicky clutch leg. I not so worried on me Vit as its auto. But if need arises, will go switched hi idle, rather than full hand throttle |

Does Vit idle up work off a load sensor? my xtrail has load sensitive idle, so its pretty dificult to stall unless ur trying, you can almost drive with out using the right pedal at all |

My G16B has an anti stall idle up but I have absolutely no idea where it is or how it works. Never bothered to find out cause it still works. |

christover1 wrote: EFI could be electonically switched to idle up there would be limitations though with the throttle body being completley closed? i suspect a mechanical/magnetic solution would be better. Is there something avail where you can just set it with your foot and flick a switch to activate an electromagnet style clamp or similar? (just spitballing here) |

Thats almost exactly what i have rigged up Scales. though it uses a knob. but pulling the knob does actually depress the pedal. |

You could always go to the wreckers and get an idle up cable/knob thingo out of a GQ for a few dollars. Not a high demand item so they'd be dirt cheap. Would look like a factory install too. |
