Hi gents. I've owned my vitara for about eight years and I had the belt changed at 105k and now it has 230k and was wondering if I should get the water pump changed as its the original item. Cheers ray |

A lot of bits come out to get to the timing belt, it makes sense to replace everything in there, while your at it. |

Pretty sure my water pump was original and I only changed it at 210,000 - was mint and I reckon worked better than the brand new replacement... |

I wonder how many people have pulled out a perfectly functional genuine suzuki pump when they change the belt and replace it with an inferior chinese copy? I think it's a good idea to change the pump with the belt, especially at 200K+, but I'd be putting a genuine pump back in. Steve. |

Replacement had smaller, thinner blades and the whole thing felt a bit flimsy compared to the original, which did look absolutely new. The belt did too, so I guess there's a chance they had both been changed not long before I got it. Live and learn. |
