Tubes are useful as a poor mans bead lock.
And helpful if tyres suffer from bead leaks.

But unless tubes are the hd simex type,
and if tyres are in good nick,
I personally wouldn't bother with tubes.

If you spin a tyre on the rim, it can rip valve off, instant flat.

But simex tubes come with an insert for the rims valve hole, which is kinder to valve stems.
It is possible that rims have had thier holes drilled for the inserts,
which could make it harder to fit tubeless stems.

i ran tubes in my simex tyres for the reasons christover says above... don't forget they also add weight to the wheel and can make them harder to balance.

The tubes are probably in there for a reason. I bet the beads are leaking

But you are not using the rims the tyres came with,
so depends on condition of your rims and the tyres bead surfaces.

tubeless means easy repairs with a plug. having said that i am putting 16inch splitrims on my sierra so will have to run tubes.

Tubes will see you though for a little while until you get beadlocks.

Tubes should let you run around 8psi with some reliability, however, depending on what you are driving, you might want to run 1/2 that- 4psi. In general, those swampers will keep working better ther softer you run them.

Also bear in mind that if the rims and tyres are in reasonable nick, a lost bead on a tubeless tyre is no big deal, however, a spun tube is a pita.

Take some tubeless valve stems with you. If you spin a tube, at least you can pull the tube out and put a tubeless stem in.

I have nothing against tubes, it's just they aren't beadlocks, which is what those tyres need.

Tubes are shit., once you get a puncture you have to dismantle the wheel assembly to fix it unlike a tubeless ( <--------- a reason for this word.) A tube is good for a split rim & swimming... that's about it.

I've never seen a Sierra with a puncture. I have, however, seen countless tyres fall off beads. Tubeless tyres will burp air when the sidewalls are loaded up, and the next burp has the tyre off the bead.

Tubes prevent the tyre burping air when they lift off the rim, which in inevitable without beadlocks.
