Hi everyone,

Jumping back on the zook wagon after a few years of driving a mitsubishi Delica and im looking forward to it.

At the moment I am still deciding between the Jimny and the Grand Vitara, and im leaning towards the jimny as with the money saved i will be able to put a front and rears lockers, bull bar, winch, lift, upgraded tyres etc etc and still have change.

I do have a question about the rear diff, all the quotes i received have been for the RD208 ARB locker, wich is stated as being for models 1984-on.

does this mean that the diff design has not changed in the jimny's since 1984?

why change something if its good to begin with.

I don't thinks it's so much as not changes but to do with the splines... From memory rear is 22 spline and from 26? Or could be other way around!

There's isn't a 84 Jimny. Jimnys start at 98 onwards,Rear locker in a Jimny has same part number as a sierra rear which is rd208
Rd208 are new part number for the rd88. Jimny front is Rd206 or rd207
