Post subject:  sierra body lift install questions.

hey guys ive done a bit of a search and couldnt really find wat i was after.

Im going to be puttin a 2" body lift into my 94 sierra this weekend and was wondering if i could get a blow by blow of wat to do. From wat i understand basically losen all the bolts jack up one side put the blocks in then do the other side, I am however going to try jack one side a little befre i jack the other the whole way to put the block in, ive read this helps.

My questions are wat has to happen to (if anything)
- steering
- gear stick
- 4x4 selector stick
- fuel filler to tank pipe
- any brake lines
- anythin else i may have missed??

Any help would be greatly appreciated with these questions ive heard a few different things like "loosen the steering at the fire wall", "gear stick will be too short"

cheers guys

Jon

Instructions should come with the kit, I no JC kit does.
Kit should have steering biscuit. Gear stick is fine, 4wd stick needs a slight bend in it or cut a bit out of the gearbox tunnel.
Not sure bout fuel filler, Yiu can get extensions eith some kits. I just pulled it off a bit on the tank. Some thing to do with bracket on drivers side wheel well needs moving for the brake lines.

If you're using a Just_Cruizin kit then don't let any of this worry you. His instructions are detailed and he's also there for any questions. If you're not using his kit then good luck!!

the fuel filler tube can be a bitch but you just need to persevere with it, when you lower the body down on the blocks dont tighten anything right down till you have everything lined up properly.

sorry if thats not very useful but i was really lucky and had use of a 10T gantry crane to put mine in so it was a pretty painless process for me, all I can say is Just Cruisin's instructions were 100% spot on and if followed prevent any real headaches.

maybe if you PM'd him he might be nice enough to send you a copy if the instructions?

thanks jdk81, that is a fastastoc write up, just a follow up question, the kit i have doesnt have the steering spacer and im told that its not required, and in the write up the guy adjusted his steering arm. Did any1 else have to do that? i was lookin on "locktup4x4" and all they say is "Next loosen steering at firewall junction" no removing or changing....

im JC's kit there is a poly steering spacer to replace the stock fibre one, it was quite a bit thicker too, so AFAIK you do need one, not sure about the adjusting bit

Just got back from a bad weekend away. Do you still need the instructions?

If the blocks are squeaking check your bolt tightness, if they are tight and you can turn the blocks by hand you need new rubbers as the originals will be flogged out.
