Hi all,

Well over the last couple of days I have been having a problem with my 95 sierra. While driving the engine cuts out like you have turned the car off with the key and after coasting down in speed it will start back up again as long as i leave it in gear. If i put the clutch in or put it in neutral it just stalls. What i do with the throttle seems to have no affect on what it does either.

The car does not bunny hop, or anything of the kind. When the engine kicks back in it does a little hop (like you have just push started the car) though thats about it. I have run a carby cleaner additive to the fuel with no change.

It doesnt seem to be a set speed that it happens at, and no lights come up on the dash when it happens, like it would if you stalled it.

Any hep would be great as its my daily driver and I need to get to work somehow!

Thanks

i would be checking the ignition system, possibily the HT coil lead might be loose, primary coil connections to the coil could be loose or have a broken wire or the trigger in the dizzy could be starting to fail.

if you have a spare dizzy try it

I have checked all the spark plug leads, and the connections to the dizzy cap and they all seem to be fine.

Im at a point that I know this could be one of them problems I could replace a lot of different things and not have results! :(

Also, stupid question, does these 1.3l engines have a fuel filter?? If so where is it?? Could a dirty/blocked filter cause these problems??
