I am pretty good with wiring and certainly there is nothing in a 1.6 vit that scares me but I wouldn't be keen on doing this to an efi vit, its not going to work on a carby at all, there are signals the trans ecu are looking for from the engine ecu that you don't have and dont have any way to replicate.

your only way out is to look at one of them aftermarket shift controllers that turn it into a manual shift job

I'm doubtful you will find a solution to the wiring side of things but if you do i also would be very interested in the same setup in mine

Don't give up sooo quick! Anything can be solved and made to work.

The main AW4 auto TCM requirements are:

-Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) [Have a look at mine or Damo's threads on how to make one to suit you speedo cluster]
-Throttle position sensor (TPS) [Im sure you could scab one from the wreckers and adapt it to the throttle shaft on your carby]
-Engine coolant sensor (ECT) [You could find another from the wreckers and tap it into the manifold next to your sender for the temp gauge]

Sensor wise its doable. The other thing you will require is a circuit to read and interpret the sensor outputs to suit the TCM. This is what I'm currently working on for a few board members and will end up with a solution not too far away.

I'm holding my breath waiting for you to do this, I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope you pull this off. I'll be ready with the cash if you do

Mega squirt do an I/O board that's been used as a trans controller with great success, but if you're not confident with wiring I think it would be a nightmare for you.....

This is what I was talking about when I said it could be done, there are some very smart people playing with this at the moment and I am confident they will get this to work.
