Can you take the engine straight out of a 1.3L FWD Suzuki swift and bolt it straight in to a 1997 sierra?

i run a swift motor in my buggy.where you will run into dramas is the sump is to the front of the engine on them and to the rear on a sierra. it will hit your diff unless you have big lift and minimal uptravel
doesnt affect mine as the diffs along way forward on it and clears.and im not sure if inlet manifolds get changed or not, someone smart will let you know

can as in they have the same block but you have to keep in mind the dizzy is gonna point strait back as in get in the wasy of the fire wall. the first one i did was a hack job through the firewall and made a box, unfortunately i had to take out the heater box and remove it from the cooling system, then when i got defected  i had to rig a 12v hairdrier to a button on the dash and pipe it to the windscreen to pass the demister portion of the inspection. on the latest conversion i have there is a 90 degree angle drive on the distributer that fixes this problem....... there is always the option of moving the angine mounts forward 40mm to clear the firewall, then there is the wireing the compter/engine management into the existing loom........

hope this helps

You'd be able to swap Sumps and oil pick ups correct?
Is the 97 sierra a 1.3L (is it the same block as the swift)?

I fitted my Sierra with a G13 Swift engine.
I used the sump, oil pickup, camshaft, dizzy and normal bolt on bits from the Sierras dead engine.
I kept the multiV pulleys as easier for power steering conversion,
and for the 110 alternator upgrade.
I had a fan boss made up by a mate, to run stock Sierra fan,
but some use thermo fans instead.

The swift is an old single cam carby, can't remember the year. I wish it was a GTI engine.
