When things get a bit muddy I get mud and stones up under the rubber wiper trim and it gets trapped against the glass.
when the window gets wound up and down it puts scratches in the glass.

what have you guys done about this ?
Ideas ?

Better wheel coverage by your flares helps,
and front mudflaps can help.
That's what my Sierra had.
Have done the same for the Vit,
also keeps door handles cleaner.

It is because your tyres are now outside of the body work.

Stay out of the mud. It wrecks everything.

I got a big scratch in an arch across the drivers side of my windscreen on the Toolangi trip. There must have been a stone in the wiper with the mud and when I put the wipers on it scrtched pretty bad. If you find a good way to polish out the scratches without making it worse let me know. I was going to try tooth paste.

The mud was above my wheel arches in the hole I dropped into.
I think that staying out of that sort of mud is a good idea, the mud was over everything in the engine bay.

Thanks for the link Christover.

I found mud jammed from my cross member right up through diff
and touching bottom of the motor,
thus inspiring the sump guard build.

Mud nearly made it into the window.
I think the mud got too close to the windowfrom the bank when I was leaning on it.

Jon, you don't need much dirt/mud to scratch your windows, best bet is to get a second set of doors and cut them. Only other thing is to carry extra water and wash your car down more often.

I carry a weed sprayer hand pump full of water.
Handy for cleaning radiators, windows and whatever bits get dirty

Jon, FYI don't forget you have to clean all lights, plates and mirrors before hitting the highway.
