if you want to shag your tyres out then go for it.

You will need to clearance things a little but not huge amounts. Moving the front diff forward slightly helps too.

What offset rims are you going to run on it?

Author:  _noddy [ Fri Nov 21, 2008 1:25 am ]
Post subject:  Re: help

i think there 1.5 inchs offset rims

Author:  hooki [ Fri Nov 21, 2008 1:41 am ]
Post subject:  Re: help

probably do-able if you moved the diff forward as it would move the tyre further away from the firewall. but i'm taking a geuss that it will drive like crap offroad as slight bumps will cause the tyre to thrash the gaurds. you could always do a virtual lift and chop the guards out a bit.

Post subject:  Re: help

but another thing my 1 liter wont push 31s would it and are wt diffs a lower ratios or higher

Post subject:  Re: help

it will turn the 31"s but any decent hill will have you burning up the clutch and going nowhere, been there done that. crawler gears are the go.

I had 31"s, 2" spring lift, no body lift, offset rims on standard 1 litre diffs and had minimal scrubbing, the only noticable place was on the springs at full lock but not enough to make it undrivable.

1 litre 4.11:1
1.3NT 3.7:1
1.3WT 3.9:1

Got it wrong Mark

1.3WT 3.7:1
1.3NT 3.9:1

but that's OK I'll correct you

Post subject:  Re: help

so i got 4.11:1 diffs now im going to 3.7:1 diffs is that a higher gearing or lower and wat will it diff to the revers

Post subject:  Re: help

dont worry greg, I knew what I meant.

noddy the simplest way to explain it is this:

4.11:1 ratio means the driveshaft rotates 4.11 times to the wheels 1 rotation.

3.7:1, same thing, driveshaft rotates 3.7 times to the wheels 1 rotation.

so the less driveshaft rotations per wheel rotation means the lower the engine revs to turn the wheels.

I think you mean the less driveshaft rotations per wheel rotation means the higher the gearing?
