Hi there. A couple of questions : 1. Has anyone ever swapped a Hilux IFS Front and rear diff under a Vitara Before. 2. What gearing options are available for the setup. 3. Would it be a worth while setup. |

Plenty of vitaras have had hilux rear diffs fitted. Front diff? Maybe. It would be VERY hard to fit between the sump and the crossmember though - they are much bigger. It would be a major fabrication exercise. I'm also suspicious they might be wider flange to flange, so there isn't any more room for axles to add wheel travel. IFS hiluxes have less than no wheel travel. I think the lowest ratio for a hilux is 5.7something, but I heard these had a very weak pinion. It seems the lost commonly available ratio now is 5.29. Not much of an upgrade over 5.12. Steve. |
