Hi peeps,a wierd one .I have a swb vit, the power window switches are all good and cleaned ( as per old thread found when searched ). The passenger window will go down but not up when switched from the passenger door switch, but nothing happens from the drivers door switch panel, the drivers windows goes up and down ok.. any clue as to colours of wiring to trace, have taken door panel off seems to be no dodgy wiring or connections..its bloody cold with the window down and i have to use it for work tomorrow.how can i power the window up in the meantime ? I have checked fuses and will now look for the thermal overload thingy..cheers

if one switch fails, both wont work on some model. So for eg if the drivers door switch 'up' is buggered, up will not work on pass side either. You have to pull out switch from drivers door and power the up signal wire that corresponds to the pass door.

On most vehicles the power window switches are inter-linked - this is done to prevent a short circuit if one switch is set to up whilst the other is set to down - the fact that the window goes down indicates your fuses & thermal overload are intact, your motor is good your wiring is intact, the problem IS the switches.
To get the window up remove the door panel and find the wiring to the motor - should be two wires - connect 12V DC to them, one way will wind down , the other up.
