Hi, Went wheeling Friday arvo and about 1 hr into it car started not idling, if you hold revs on 1100 - 1500rpm carburetor spits and fluctuates but won't idle at all. Changed spark plugs, fuel filter, and put some metho in fuel tank but still won't run has anyone experienced this before? Or can anyone suggest what could be the problem. 1992 1.3 Sierra soft top all standard in the engine department. Cheers David |

idle solenoid, either blocked, broken or not getting power to it (its the thing up the rear of the carb with the wire hanging out of it) |

I have unplugged and reconnected it and it makes clicking sound does that mean it is working. Should I still take it out and see if it's blocked. David |

that means its getting power and could be working, pays to pull it out and make sure its free and moving and blow the crap out with compressed air (wear safety glasses and try to not get fuel on you it will spray everywhere) some carby cleaner through there wont hurt either |

Cheers David further information when revs hold at for example 3000rpm (or for that fact any rpms) you can hear a miss in the engine. has anybody had a bad fuel problem and could this relate to the problem for example water mixed with the fuel. |

Just a note car is running good now, must of had <=nice try=> in jets somewhere. Reversed leads started up held a few revs got the backfire thing going then presto good as it was before the wheel on Friday. Again thanks to all who contributed Cheers David |
