I have read other posts on the 1.6 into a 1.3 but i own a 1ltr!
I understand that the engine mounts need to be modified and
im unsure of the gearbox mounts.
but i am wondering about the 1ltr transfer case are they the same as the 1.3 apart from flanges or are ratios different?
if they are which one is better and why?
also which is better to use the vitara box or the 1.3 and why?
and will the 1ltr drive shaft fit the 1.3 or vit box?

cheers wayne

you'd be better off keeping the 1litre transfer it has lower gearing than a 1.3 transfer

yes you will need to modify engine mounts, though if you use a sierra 5 speed you can keep the original crossmember. my preference is for the vit manual or auto as these are tough as nails and will give a little extra torque. the maruti transfer is the same as a 1.3 EXCEPT it has 1 litre gearing. and if its a late model widetrack maruti it has 4.1 diffs, bigger cv's....yes bigger....and will accept airlockers.
