my battery light keeps staying on when my g16b in a sierra is running. the charge voltage is 19.2V which is way high. I have hooked the sense wire to a relay which I have checked and rechecked that everything is on the right terminals. when I join the alt sense wire and sierra loom voltage regulator wire off of the relay it still charges at 19.2V. when the engine is running and I just test the alt sense wire its reading 6.1V, (this is disconnected from the relay). I feel like I have exhausted my options, is there something I'm doing wrong here?

I think your right. I pulled it out and put the vit alt back in and it was charging at 14.4V. thanks guys.

O and on a side note. I couldn't get my handbrake light to turn off either. disconnected everything that would power it. as soon as I put the working alt in it turned off. maybe a sign that your alt is stuffed in the future.
