Post subject:  Good/cheap place to get engine rebuilt

Hey guys I'm new to this forum I have a
94 Sierra that is using a fair bit of oil.
I thought instead of changing the rings
I'm going to do a full rebuild. I'm still trying
To weigh up either rebuilding myself or
Getting someone else to do it. I'm from
Newcastle NSW and I dont really know
Where to get it done. So my question is does
Anyone know a good place in Newcastle that
Isn't going to charge an arm and a leg to get
My g13ba bored honed and machined?
Cheers Skelly

what kind of experience do you have? ever build one b4?eg: do you know the difference between a crankshaft and a cam shaft? (some people dont know)

should budget for over 1g to get it done by a shop, doing it your self will be cheaper but still expensive when you consider the cost of parts and machining.

Low kilometer import engines are a good choice.

I got my Vitara engine from

You want good OR cheap? You will get one or the other but asking for both is inviting a disappointment.

You seen him lately on his infomercial??

If he isn't batting for the other team he's a switch hitter.

The guy is 72 years old so I reckon he can be excused for getting a bit soft.

There is a shop that I used (can't remember the name) down on industrial drive, it bored, decked, fitted pistons to rods and balanced my engine, I think $40 a bore and $120 a deck... If you want the name let me know.
