What should I put in the rear of my swb tintop mini spool or a spartan locker? It's only used for weekend wheeling so I dont care about tyre wear. Is the extra money worth putting in a spartan over a mini spool? |

Spool.. You'll get used to it soon enough. Go easy till you do though... Understeer in... Oversteer through and understeer out of corners... Keeps you awake... The effects are less exaggerated on road if you have VERY chunky mud tyres EG centipedes or Silverstones. |

Is it worth gettin a spool or just weld it if its not my daily? SPOOL... Spool is removable. Welded is not removable. It ruins a set of spider gears and is prone to failure. |

Yes I highly agree, spool. I ran a welded rear for a long time, as back then nothing was available. 1 disintegrated after a couple of years, but the 2nd lasted a very long time. A spool is dirt cheap, and no heat stress to delicate parts. |

A WELL setup auto locker is a good option. Very predictable IMO. |

X2 auto lockers are barely noticeable when setup properly. |

But he is not using it for street purposes going by his first post, so were back to the Spool.... Gives the option of returning to an open center if needed with little fuss. |

Im a fan of the Spartans, but if its not your DD, then Spool it. If your doing the front, air lock it if you can. I had a spartan in the front but I also had put in PS which helped it be ok. I had to let off up hills when I should have been under power in order to turn sometimes. Turning is better than crabbing. |
