Hi all,

I have a 94 LWB Vitara. While cornering to the left only, the hand brake warning light comes on under cornering loads. Never to the right. I would appear to be when fluids of some sort move away from a sensor, but I cant work out which ones!! Does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas where I can start looking?!!

Cheers Nick.

Have you checked the brake fluid? It it's low it would set the sensor off when cornering

Does the Vitara use fluid in the hand brake ??

Sounds like its just a crappy switch.

no but it uses the handbrake warning light as a low brake fluid level warning.

if it was a french build shitbox, i'd believe it if it was a fluid powered handbrake... checked the oil on the C4 Citroen i'm driving & the dipstick is literally a piece of wire with a pissy plastic handle & a plastic end on it with the E & F marks on it.

Lots of cars/trucks use a wire dipstick because of the convoluted path they take from the top to the sump.
Normal flat steel only bends in one plain.

now you need to find the leak that caused the low fluid level.
