Hello im chasing someone in brisbane that could do a leak down test on my g16b sierra also a compression test aswell. I can pay in alcohol or cash. I think a workshop would charge me too much to perform these tests so id rather pay someone that has the equipment in there garage that doesnt get used much.

How long can you wait? I am down albury doing a gwagon maintainer course. Will be back friday night. I can compression test it for you on the weekend but will need to grab leak down tester from work. Generally you just compression test and if it's abit lower and oil doesn't raise it then you leak down to isolate the problem. Why do you want to compression test it?

Well its overheating, and before I go spending money on things that might not fix it I want to test the engines condition. I'm thinking if it does have a suspect head gasket then I'll start stripping it down and take it to the engine specialist. At the moment it's running a brand new alluminium Sierra radiator with a shroud. And a slightly trimmed vitara viscous fan that I have locked to get the temperature down. It runs at 100 degrees which I think is too hot. If you want pm me with more details.
