So i have not done much to the lil tin top in the past couple of months (apart from a snorkel)
Just been driving it and enjoying it very much!

Now im moving near maitland somewhere to start an apprenticeship in January, i dont know what sort of tracks there is down there but im pretty keen to try out the wattagans.

Obviously i wont have alot of money to spend but just wondering what sort mods i should be planning for.
Currently i have:
-2 inch lift, EFS/Gabrielle
-235 bighorns
-Bullbar and rear bar
-will be getting a winch soon
-snorkel

I will be keeping it as a DD for atleast another 18 months yet so dont want to go to extreme.
I was thinking 31's??? and maybe a rear locker

Any advice would be great :D and anyone that lives in that area that knows some tracks that would like another wheeling buddy, shout out

Save up $1500-$1600 and buy some 6.5 gears and a set of 31's with 15x7 -23 rims.
Then save as fast as you can for a pair of air lockers.. They aren't cheap but you won't regret buying them.

My car is more capable with just gears than it is with a rear locker. ( i have gone back to a stock transfer while i rebuild my 6.5s). you will be amazed how much more control you have, this allows you more time to pick better lines and be much softer on your car. with open diffs and stock transfer my car will drive hills to where it stalls in low 1st but i could go further if gearing was lower. whereas even if i have a locker it still wont go up the hill.

Wattagans is good and plenty of side of the road tracks around bud between wyong/mainland area. Heaps of wheeling from sand to rocky rutted hill climbs to deep rutted ugly mud bogs! You won't be sorry at least in the wheeling department!

Go 6.5 first, i did it the wrong way and it sucked ass. The little 1litre couldn't deal with it.

im running a 1litre, 31x10.5 on 15x8, 6.5 gears, 3.9 diff ratio and a rear mini spool and go's heaps of places. It sits on 100 nicely and crawls wicked
