I just did half a ruf and it gave me no lift and a crazy shackel angle
gave me more travel a lot more the load leaf was taken out.

When i did half RUF i ran 2 inch all round and mine sits level. I personally think half RUF doesn't pick the height up much if any at all. My shackle angle is about 45 which works well. Is that what you mean by an insane angle? I think its quite a good angle.

Did you drill a new hole in the spring hanger back from where it is standard?

no its in the same hole and im running 2 inch longer shackels

then you didnt really do a half RUF because the half means that you redrilled the hole instead of extended the chassis which is full and you should only be running the longer shackles in the front

then you cant really make it work, go down to bunnings or a local hardware shop and get a $20 cheapy, hell it will work for atleast one job

and the drill bit to drill the holes will cost more than the drill

there is no reason RUF (none of this half and full bullshit, they are still rear springs) will work on teh stock mount with longer shackles, they may invert the shackles and have some nice fangs but no worse than anything else

you dont really do RUF for lift, they springs have more arch but are softer so it tends to even out a bit

ok so it more like a softer ride thing

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that most of us don't do it with a softer ride in mind. Personally mine loved on road corners a hell of a lot more before the RUF. The reason its done is to get half decent articulation off road. If you check my "rattles and squeeky" members thread theres some shots of my black one ramping with drilled RUF.

oh yeah but the cops dont like the long shackels

My shackles are 110mm center to center to suit my RUF and I've never been hassled by the cops.
