So, for the past couple of weeks I have been in the process of rebuilding the G13BA in my Sierra. The engine was not broken, it was leaking oil quite badly and had really been thrashed, it was out of breath. :deadhorse:

I was looking into a G16 conversion but I could only find a rebuilt one for $2,600 trade in... I don't think so. A little pricey for me.

The heater is not working in the car.. I think its safe to assume the heater core is clogged.. Upon cutting the heater core tube, rust water just came out. No sign of green coolant. Ewwwww. No wonder the car has a new radiator. I guess I have to get that flushed now.

This is the block after a lot of scraping out rusted head-gasket and what looked to be mud clogging all cooling channels. Then blasted with compressed air.

I am in Perth and now in the process of looking for a place to hone/bore the engine. Any recommendations?

Any input is welcome and this is my first rebuild.

Cheers!
