i searched and found that stock vit rims are 25P offset & stock sierra are 15P

http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... edy+offset

so am i right in thinking that sierra rims on a vit would actually be a -10 offest?

the reason im asking is we are driving a vit in the shitbox rally & are thinking of taking two or three of my stock sierra rims as spares, even if we just used em on the back wheels & if we got a flat on the front do a switch with a rear then chuck a sierra one on the back

or am i totally thinking the wrong way here?

Sierra rims on a Vitara w3ill stick out 10mm more.
Many people use Sierra rims on Vits to get 30's on .

I'm assuming its an early Vit,
as later have a different stud pattern

ALL Vitaras have the same stud pattern as a Sierra. Early Grand Vitaras also have the same, but it is only the 2006-on GV that has a different stud pattern to other Suzuki 4wds. But then again, the 2006-on GV shares almost nothing in common with any earlier Suzuki.

2 or 3 spares in the back of a swb Vit, you're bloody mad... IMO. where is all your other crap going to go?

i'd look at carrying an extra spare & get a good tyre plug kit.

mate the only other crap we will have is my swag and two backpacks pretty much. my brother has one of those hikers tents that folds up to bugger all..........the organisers say we have to take two spares so it will be only one in the back & will take a tyre plug kit to cover any other punctures, top idea that.

and yeah i am bloody mad..............

Rip out the back seats, and use an old tuff fly screen door as a cargo barrier :))

Make up a land rover style spare holder on the bonnet? (reinforce the bonnet to suit).
Gives you two spares, without taking up valueable space in car.

Two spares, do they have to fit?
A spare tyre, a good little air comp, plug kit, and maybe a tube would be ample

In old car races they were required to carry a spare tyre. My grandfather used to carry a bicycle wheel and tyre in the boot of his MG. As the rule didnt state the spare had to fit.

we were thinking something like this, also will be chucking a roof basket on for jerry cans and stuff, would prob get one up there too if the bonnet mount wasnt going to work due to sponsorship space being taken up, the shitbox rally & cancer council put their stuff all over the bonnet & front doors..............
