just curious to know if engineer's certificates carry on to other states
im looking at selling my zook with the 1.6 conversion but it will cost 990 in the ACT for the certificate
so rather then get it engineered here if it doesn't carry i would just knock the 990 of the price
any help would be appreciated
thanks guys

Technically it should be re-engineered and plated for the new state in which it's registered, the engineer who approves the mod must be approved in the new state. Though it really depends a lot on the mod, the engine swap you've done should be ok however mods like spring over which can be engineered in some states (NSW) are a definate no in others. You should be ok however $1000 for a mod plate sounds exxy

Engineering certificate aside,

If you want to sell that zook interstate, anyone buying it from you will be wise to make sure you already have old or existing registration documents from your state showing engine numbers and Chassis numbers match.

The point I'm making is that you should already have successfully registered that particular chassis with that particular engine, and have the proof in the form of a registration document. If you haven't registered the change of engine number already, then your car is a bit toxic to interstate buyers as they have to get a NSW blue-slip done or the equivalent identity check in their own state, and if the engine don't match the chassis then it's problems for them.
