Post subject:  Pulling box from 1.6 sierra
I'm after any tips from pulling a 1.3 5 speed box from behind a 1.6 efi. I have a g16b with a petroworks kit. I'm struggling to get the box free.

Remove starter, remove gear stick and jackshaft. Take out bolts on bell housing, hope underneath and pull the box. Wiggle it from side to side. Shouldn't take more than an hour to get out max.

I've done all that. Its not the weight. It's just as if it's to long to squeeze out. I'm thinking that it has something to do with the petroworks mount kit.

Did you disconnect exhaust so that engine will tilt back a bit more and try to rotate gearbox a little toward passenger side

I actually gave up. I was very hungover this morning. Kas I got most of the Sierra back together. Struggled for ages with the damn unis. New ones went in like a breeze but the old ones were a pain. I used my box as it is really not buggered at all. The box I got from u I'll be finding a nearby transmission specialist and get it fully recoed and keep as a spare. Just have to that rear wheel bearing tomorow and it's back on the road.

I'd still love a diff if it turns out to be the right one u have kas.

No rush kas! Mine will hold out for awhile. That new uni has taken atleast 80% of the drivetrain slop out!

Def was a uni. My rear diff is also shagged. The Sierra went from absolute thrash box to a daily. Not cool lol. Soon it will get retired back to just a weekend toy!
