Hay I am currently in the process of getting my car ready for engineering I was wondering about steering the diffs I have have a high steer on them and addaps to hilux box so how do I make a hilux box adapt to my rails and steering shaft as the engineer doesn't like the standard box and doesn't think it will last long so what do I do how do I make it addapt cause hilux boxes are located on the outside of the rails and Sierra is on inside ???????

Get a ifs hilux box, clamp it to the outside of the frame rail. Adjust the way it sits until you are happy with the steering, check the pitman arm will clear the chassis.
Trace the outline of the box to the rail and mark the mounting holes. Drill the mounting holes, plate the chassis and weld in crush tube for the mounting holes.
You will need to trim a lot of the inner guard and body mount as well. What size tires were you going to run? A vitara box will work well if you are not going too big, and will be bolt in with an adapter kit.

Heres a link to a install

OR

Import a Hilux LHD(Pickup/Tacoma/4runner) steering box from the USA. It goes outside the chassis as LHD but when you move it over it will go inside the chassis here in Australia as RHD.
You will still need to fit crush tubes etc in the right places.

Best to check with your engineer about how to go about that / what they would be happy with....You could make a hybrid shaft, half toyota and half suzuki. Then plug weld a sleeve over the join.

Then you will roll it then you will cry.

Your scared to scratch it now, and scared to drive anything serious, Why do you want 35's? Everything you drive you can be on <30's

When you fall over, Expect a laugh from me.

^^What would you do for the radiator? It is tight enough with a vit box in the rails a lux box would be a pain to fit in there.

a lux box is only about 10mm bigger in most directions than a vit box.

I bought an IFS box from the US and have it fitted to the LJ im building.
