hey guys

i was out driving today and tryed to climb this big rock with my front right tyre on it had a couple cracks at it bounceing a few times and there was a cruching type noise now it doesnt want to turn very far it seems to turn one way fine sometimes but when u go the other way it will not turn very far could this be a cv or any ideas on what it could be

sounds like a shattered CV bell & the bits are jamming up in the swivel hub... don't drive it until you're removed the broken bits, as they could jam up at the wrong time.

ok thanks is there a way to tell what side is broken or do i just cheak both

i'd be looking at the side that the noise came from first.

Got to try and be smoooooth, no bouncing etc this is definitely a cv killer and transfer case wrecker. I watched my brother destroy a cv and transfer case in his d22 navara by doing exactly the same thing, couldn't climb it on the line he was on so gave it the berries.... When that didn't work the old give it more berries came into play with lots of bouncing/breaking/crunching/chain slipping noises and 1 broken truck. Smooth flowing is the key if you can, if not pick different line or pack the obstacle= no breakages.
